TRAINING

With years of experience in Intrusion Detection research, signature development, exploit and compromised systems analysis, and enterprise security design/implementation, we have designed hands-on courses with content not available through other programs. For example, our Dragon IDS Engineering class not only includes material on installing, configuring, and managing Dragon networks, but also includes material on attack theory and analysis, signature development, performance tuning, and planning for IDS deployments. We also conclude the class with a short but practical look at incident response and forensics.

Other SwarmSecure classes focus on the current state of attacks and vulnerabilities. This gives analysts an in-depth and hand-on approach to understanding the threats they will continue to face in addition to *why* attacks will continue to evolve in their current directions. In this course, we take an in-depth and relevant look into how networks are being compromised. This material is not based on information gleaned from introductory books like "Hacking Exposed," but actual real world experience and observations.

Our presentation skills are from more sources than teaching however. One of the current instructors has spoken at some of the most highly acclaimed security conferences like CanSecWest (2001 - "NT Kernel Rootkits"; 2003 - "Counter-Forensics 101 for Attackers") and the law enforcement forensics conference, TechnoSecurity (2003 - "Current Trends in Exploit Development").

The class ends with a challenging take-home test that can be sent back and graded by the instructor. If passed, the student is presented with a certificate of success.
